1. Scale
This refers to the object generated by the crystallization of metal ions contained in groundwater or tap water and their adhesion to the inner wall of the pipeline. They are composed of elements such as calcium, manganese, and sodium. If there are too many layers of scale,
The flow channel inside the pipeline will narrow and limit the flow rate. Scales may also adhere to the inside of the flow meter, causing adverse effects on the normal operation of the flow meter. In addition, for flow meters with mechanical components,
There may be debris peeling off from the scale causing blockage.
2. Sediment
This is a general term used to describe the presence of suspended and sediment in fluids. On the production line, this usually includes debris and abrasive particles from the grinder. The sediment continues to circulate with the fluid, causing blockage of the flow meter or causing noise interference. For flow meters with mechanical components in the pipeline, axial wear and erosion may occur, thereby reducing the flow rate. Although filter screens or magnetic separators can be used to control sediment, complete removal is difficult and therefore still requires maintenance.
3. Rust
Unlike scale, this is a problem when oxidation occurs inside the pipeline. Adding corrosion inhibitors to fluids can prevent rusting, but unused pipes can still rust when exposed to air. When water flows through the pipeline again, rust will peel off into fragments, causing blockage inside the flow meter or sticking to the observation window of the float flow meter.
4. Viscous substances
Including living substances in water, such as algae and microorganisms. It is similar to mud and has stickiness. Like scale, it can also cause blockage and obstruction in impeller type flow meters, and can cause float type flow
The visible part of the meter is blurry.
5. Mud
Mud is a general term for liquids containing a certain amount of homogeneous solid particles, including liquids containing abrasives. Individual particles may cause internal wear of the flow meter or condense into blocks, leading to blockage.
